4. Safeguarding & Duty of Care The safety, wellbeing, and dignity of our service users are our absolute priorities. The Outpost operates a strict, zero-tolerance Safeguarding Policy in alignment with the North Somerset Safeguarding Adults Board (NSSAB) frameworks and the Care Act 2014. All staff, volunteers, and directors undergo mandatory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and regular safeguarding training. 5. Health, Safety & Off-Grid Operations As a nature-based day service operating in an outdoor woodland environment, we manage safety through meticulous risk assessment rather than risk avoidance.
- Risk Assessments: Comprehensive risk assessments are carried out for all site areas and all scheduled activities.
- Insurance: The Outpost holds full Public Liability Insurance and Employers' Liability Insurance tailored specifically for outdoor care provisions and agricultural/nature-based activities. Copies of our insurance certificates are displayed on-site and are available upon request.
6. Regulatory Frameworks The Outpost delivers supportive day opportunities, purposeful activities, and life-skills training for young adults. We work in partnership with families, advocates, and local authority commissioning teams across North Somerset and surrounding areas to ensure our provision meets the highest local quality standards for non-residential day care.
